We Made a Splash with High Seas Expedition
Vacation Bible School

Everyone made a splash with High Seas Expedition!  Church members, families and visiting families enjoyed an exciting Vacation Bible School. Daily activities included Sing & Play Splash where the kids would come together and learn songs, thanks to Mallory Findley, Amy Findley and Stephanie Bell. Tina Bossenbroek told the Bible Voyage each morning and Karen Douglas, Karen Wharram and Katie Wharram provided the Chipper Craft & Mission projects. Every morning the kids would come for snacks at Goodies from the Galley thanks to Kathy Frank and Jeanne Miner. The kids were then off to Ship Rec Games thanks to Jason Thomas and Sally Gladwell-Thomas. Elissa Thompson put on an unforgettable Sail Away Cinema for the children and then the Floating Finale thanks again to Amy Findley, Mallory Findley and Stephanie Bell.  Along with these activities the kids learned Bible points each day that included God’s word is true, God’s word is comforting, God’s word is surprising, God’s word is life-changing, and God’s word is for everyone. Throughout the week the children collected school supplies for local schools and made blankets that will be sent to World Vision, which will then be distributed to children in Africa. 

I also want to mention all the church members and youth that made this week possible. Hattie Kate Howell helped with t-shirts and Travis Zeh and Kay Sellers were involved with taking pictures and our technical support. With the enthusiasm of the crew leaders: Laura McBeth, Shannon McBeth, Leslie Backoff, Travis Baker, Evan Baker, Elizabeth Schwartz, Michael Schwartz, Cherie Locker, Heather Starbird, Mindy Starbird, Jen Barkley and Linda Bell the week was a huge success. Many thanks to all the volunteers that made this an exceptional week for the children!
