We incorporate mission projects in our Children's and Family program here at Christ Presbyterian. For our Summer Mission Project, we will be asking children to bring in a weekly offering. It will be collected each week and donated to local tornado victims.
We have written letters, drawn pictures and purchased Christmas trees for our service persons assigned overseas. We have collected school supplies, mittens, gloves and scarves for local children in need, and made creative door hangings for our nursing home residents.
In addition, we collect aluminum tabs year-round to benefit our local Ronald McDonald House. These little tabs really go a long way in helping fund this work. A collection container is located on the Children's and Family Missions table in the classroom wing.
On Saturday, March 27, the kids and adults participated with members of Sylvania United Church to help with the Kids Against Hunger Campaign. The kids were able to measure out food, which was bagged up and sealed and then helped pack the boxes and created messages to send to needy children around the world.
