Small Groups

You can't be Christian alone. We need other believers to hold us accountable, to affirm and challenge us, to comfort us and listen to us, and to help us better understand this world God created. That's why we have a Small Group Ministry. Our desire is for each person to be connected to a group of people who will help them to be the best Christian they can be.

20/30
A group for individuals or couples in their twenties and thirties who want to connect with other young adults in the church. In addition to fellowship time, group members take turns bringing a short passage of scripture that we can explore and discuss together.  Meets every other Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Youth Room at CPC.
Boomer Women’s Group
A group for busy Boomer-aged (or almost) women who want to incorporate faith, friendship, mission, and fun into their lives.  Open to any middle-aged women who desire to live lives open and available to God’s call and claim. This group is undertaking a free dinner program (the corner) at the church on the last Monday of the month. Led by Linda Smith and Deb Johnson.
Busy People Seeking
A mixed-gender, multi-generational group for people who want to make their faith central in their busy lives through book studies, lively conversation, and asking tough questions. Meets every Thursday evening at different group members' homes, led by Cary Loos.
Community Outreach
A group that offers self-scheduling volunteer services at St. Anne's Hospital, Toledo Hospital, and Northwest Ohio Area Office on Aging or another agency of the member's choosing. Service experiences are enriched by Bible Study and intentional personal relationships. Meets every other Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Led by Wayne Mauk.
Joys and Challenges
A group for sharing ideas and concerns about aging, losing a spouse, being alone and living alone, and for exploring how faith can help. Meets every first and third Wednesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Led by Sherry Gilbert.

The Joys and Challenges small group took a couple of 'field' trips this summer which included a trip to view a beautiful labyrinth in a Perrysburg yard in July, and Cabela's Outfitters in Dundee, Michigan in August. The group members enjoyed both outings and the shared fellowship.

A road trip up to Cabela's Outfitters in Dundee was a great way for the group members to get up-close and personal with some 'not so' dangerous wildlife.
Deborah Circle
This women's book study meets the second Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. in a group member's home. They are currently using the Presbyterian Horizons Bible study for women, which focuses on the theme of Jubilee.  Led by Mary Lou Forsee.
Men's Group
A group that invites men of all ages to develop relationships, share experiences, discover new truths, and grow in God to be THE MEN that God created them to be. The group is currently reading Walking with God by John Eldridge, which is a chronicle of Eldridge’s year-long expedition in search of true conversational intimacy with Jesus Christ and an invitation for readers to find that intimacy for themselves.  Meets every Thursday at 6:45 a.m. at the church. Led by Tim Lawrence.
Mom’s Group
A group for moms of all ages with kids of all ages!  This group meets at the church one Monday each month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to discuss parenting issues and offer each other support and encouragement.  Led by Kate Backoff.
Sarah Circle
This women's book study meets monthly at the church. Sarah Circle has also organized an ongoing mission in our church providing care packages to our friends and loved ones serving in the military in the Middle East. They collect and send items like lip balm, Gold Bond lotion and foot powder, playing cards, magazines, snacks, AA batteries and moist towelettes.  Contact Diane Kowalski for more information.

Sewing and Service
A group for those who sew, quilt, knit, crochet, or embroider. Members use their skills to work on blankets and projects together and individually for donation to those in need through organizations like The Linus Project and others. Meets every other Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Led by Hattie Kate Howell.
